Get The Look

Despite the fact that this is a suburban Melbourne home it has a lovely coastal feel to it that would translate easily to any beach house by the water. From the blue, white and wood colour palette to the surfboard and the chalky floorboards this dark and dingy 1970's house has been transformed into a bright and airy Scandinavian style home. Owned by Simone Haag she is the stylist behind one of my favourite interior design practices Hecker Guthrie

A Christmas Giveaway from Everyday is a Holiday & Spode (GIVEAWAY CLOSED)

Posted by om 0 comments

This is a very special time of year for many of us. Even if you're not completely obsessed with your collections like I am...I'm betting you've got a pretty big handful of things that you just need to bring out year after year to make the holidays that much more magical. Family heirlooms, favorite decorations, personal treasures, and even those quirky little things that date back to your childhood that maybe look a little worse for the wear but they're priceless to you.
Being a collector, I'm simply enchanted by the memories (real or imagined) attached to these holiday things. I've even been known to calculate the passage of time by how many Christmas trees I've had between life events. I'll say "Aar, that was like three Christmas trees ago." Yeah...maybe Jenny Holiday is a very fitting name!

So, when we were contacted to possibly host a giveaway of Spode, we didn't have to think for a moment. We grew up hearing the name, seeing it in gift shops, in catalogs, Macy's. For 75 years they've been bringing out a whole new collection of holiday goodies...Always classic and heirloom quality.

Here at casa de Holiday we have the Christmas Tree Peppermint Cake plate and server. I thought it worked perfectly to serve up these super fun cupcakes. And just so I can get to use the matching server I'm planning on baking a gingerbread bundt cake for the second wave of partying. It's a set that will be a focal point year after year. I kinda like the idea that having this set will pretty much compel me to bake up the perfect treat every Christmas.

I'm totally in love with the motif, simply titled Christmas Tree.

It's one of Spode's most well known designs and was first introduced in 1938. So yeah...it's the 75th anniversary of the Christmas Tree design. Me and Aaron absolutely love the colors and decorations on the tree...there are little Japanese lanterns, pastel toned birds, and bits of pink and aqua tied in with the traditional Christmas colors.

And we're thrilled to be hosting this giveaway!

One very lucky Everyday is a Holiday blog reader will win this classic, nostalgic, and adorable little set. If you enter, the Spode Christmas Tree Sugar Bowl & Creamer Set can be all yours! All you have to do to enter is like Spode/Portmeirion Group on Facebook and leave a comment below telling us what your favorite decoration to bring out each year is.

You can find The Portmeirion group on pinterest as well! They have some fabulously festive boards and they host not only Spode, but also Royal Worcester and Pimpernel tabletop brands.
