An instagram cupcake and some Friday favorites!

Yes, yes...another instagram inspired wood mounted print to add to the collection! This rose topped cupcake may look familiar to you...it is inspired by a photo I shared just the other day in my Back in the Day Bakery Cookbook post. I cannot gush enough about all the sweetness coming from the hands of Cheryl & Griff Day! They inspire us to no end! :)

I'm certainly not the only one ga-ga over deborah lippmann luxury nail color. From beauty bloggers to Pinterest pinners, I cannot seem to go a day without stumbling upon a new shade to add to my wishlist! On the tippy top of my list is this magical shade..."Glitter in the Air". I've seen it worn alone, as well as layered over aqua bases. Both are so so dreamy!

As soon as I saw these beyond darling John Fluevog's I immediately started dreaming of Springtime day trips! They are seriously some of the cutest shoezies I've seen in a while! Pretty $$ but gosh they are so charming!

Ok, this here had my heart alllll a flutter! Murano glass bead wallpaper! The thought of a room or even an accent wall dressed in this finery is so beyond dreamlike! Honestly takes my breath away! The price is pretty much cuckoo, so it will all remain a dream till' we find a within reach knock off. Or...DIY! :)
I believe in celebrating everyday, and when adorable paper products such as these candy colored cuties exist it makes things so easy and oh so fun! I could truly spend every last penny over at Shop Sweet Lulu! Whether you are planning a Fancy Fete or a sweet lil afternoon tea, you are sure to find all the trimmings and darling details in one place! I have quite the wish list going!

And who doesn't need their very own toaster pastry press? I've been collecting recipes for these childhood faves for a while now, and having one of these would only cause me to consider becoming a profesh toaster tart maker! Imagine? Eeek!

Gosh, why don't we have money trees yet? :/

Happy Friday kids!

Lovely Ladies, Layers, & Lines...

Posted by om 0 comments
Hey lovies!
It's almost Friday! Gosh this week flew by! We've been painting, and planning, and packing & shipping! I can't thank you enough for all of the Instagram love! Gosh! So so happy you guys like them! We are seriously just so excited to be packing them up and shipping them off to new homes! Just thinking of them hanging amid treasures and collections in all different homes is so so fun! :)

Ok, so remember when we taught at The Creative Connection (and our road trip to and from St. Paul.) last year? Well after lots and lots and lots of emails about offering our Lovely Ladies, Layers, & Lines class as an online course or kit... here it is! Yep! I know...why'd it take so long? Why dwell...let's just get our art on! ;)

In this workshop/kit, we aim to erase many of your artistic fears while giving you the tools and confidence it takes to create a gorgeous multimedia portrait of a stylish retro gal. You'll be tracing, painting, cutting and pasting, collaging, and color washing, etc. We promise that no prior experience in drawing, painting, or collage is necessary. Aside from freeing yourself to create, what’s great about this workshop is that you’ll finish with a unique piece of portrait art for your home. In the end, you'll create a piece of artwork that uses all of the techniques taught during the class. Each student will have a ready-to-hang canvas showcasing her/his new artistic skill set!

Kit contains:

Super detailed instructions, tips and tricks
Step by Step photos
Stretched, raised canvas
Tracing paper
Our original line drawings ( 2 to choose from!)
Pretty patterned papers

**All you will need to gather is:

Scissors
Mod Podge, or Gel Medium
A pencil
Paint brushes
Black craft paint

As with any of our kits..we are only an email away! If you have any questions or need a little advice we are here for you! :)

So if you have been itching to do something fun & fabulous that will also serve as decor...this may be it! :)

Hope you'll join in the fun!!

I'll be back tomorrow with a NEW instagram wood mounted print, and Friday Favorites!

Pool Club

Pool Club at The Ivy

Inspired by magazine reviews, for a long time now I have thought what fun it would be to have a drink at The Ivy  'Pool Club' located in the heart of the Sydney's CBD. What a great spot to unwind after work on a hot summer's night!

Obviously drawing inspiration from Kelly Wrestler's fresh update on the Viceroy Hotel at Palm Springs  (below images) with it's yellow, white and black colour palette.

Bold stripes by the pool

The Viceroy Hotel, Palm Springs

I love the sunny yellow and white stripes for a retro fifties feel. The theme has translated well into this cool city hang out which not only offers a roof top pool but a number of bars, lounges, casual eateries, a sushi bar and a fine dining restaurant to suit all weather conditions, any occasion and all budgets. On my recent trip to Sydney I popped in for a quick visit, I happily tucked into barbeque spare ribs and a cocktail by the pool on a perfect sunny day.

I loved the pop of yellow and the bright turquoise. The abundance of indoor plants and hanging ferns created a lush, calm oasis in amongst the city's high rise buildings. The retro furniture, the custom made light fittings and soft furnishings, the striped awnings, and the stylish fit out the all helped to create a chilled out, groovy vibe with a difference!

This casually stylish ensemble with it's yellow and white striped bikini would be perfect for a quick dip in the pool or a lounge on the inflatable duck that floats around the pool. Then when you're feeling a bit peckish slip into some shorts, a tee, pop on a hat and some fifties style sunnies and head to one of the cafes for a bit to eat. What a cool way to spend a hot afternoon in the city!
