Friday Favorites

We've been in a good creative groove lately, and when it's good you should try to take a moment to ask yourself why it's good. Don't over think it...just try to put your finger on it so that you can maybe bottle it for next time when it's not so good. I feel like being diverse in your creativity will put a spike in your energy. So, don't just do ONE thing that you are good at...jump around...a bit of this, a bit of that. But always do the things that you are good at. The things that define you. For without definition we tend to be just that...undefined, loose, shapeless, purposeless, misguided...
Listen, I know that life is busy and for lot's of you the things that you feel really good about are not your livelihoods...they're your hobbies. And we all can't spend hours and hours pursuing our hobbies can we?
Well I'm talking on a broader scale. We all have little freedoms to choose throughout the day. Moments when we can choose this or that. And so many times we'll begrudgingly work at this...when we really should drop it and just do that. Jeez, do I sound like Dr. Seuss?...was that one long riddle? I hope not. I think you get what I mean.
Anyway, it's Friday and beyond being creative with my hands, I'm also feeling creative with my eyes. I'm seeing stuff clearer and loving them even more. "Full hearts, clear eyes, can't lose!" Yeah, that's right...I just quoted Friday Night Lights.

And what my eyes are seeing today starts off with the fabulous print above by Katrin Eieirmann. Have truer words ever been spoken? I love everything about it. The color, the distressing, the fonts...Love it!

And my eyes also alighted upon this sequin ice cream cone top from Markus Lupfer. Of course it was sold out...and apparently $482.00. Which makes the question of it being sold out or not just so totally moot. But I hope one day that it trickles down to a more financially approachable option. Maybe the good ole Forever21 version?

Ok, tissue paper flowers or puffs. I bet a couple of you yawned after reading that last group of words. Sure they're ubiquitous in this trend saturated interweb world we live in. But I cannot and will not allow that to stop me from loving something that once made me smile big. Because these still make me smile big. I mean "50,000,000 Elvis fans can't be wrong." Ha!
(Aaron says that all the time...and he's either being sincere or extremely sarcastic depending on the context)
I adore these as gift toppers. Such a sweet idea, and heck everything comes back around again and again. To me these are classic just like the vintage honeycomb paper balls that I collect. Happy things that celebrate things never go out of style. I LOVE this tutorial

This IKEA Hack has me smiling big. So so perfect for a kids room. I love the way the handles resemble candy dots...or perfectly placed sprinkles. The pastel combined with the woodgrain makes me thing of an aqua frosted three layer cake. Jeez, why am I making up all these furniture to food fantasies?

I am a sucker for black and white stripes...and black and white stripe umbrellas are a fave thing. We are so in need of a new umbrella for our deck and you can bet I've been googling, looking for the perfect candidate. I'm so in love with this classic.

Gosh, I don't know what it is about this image that gets me at my core. The bare bones-ness...gosh it speaks to me. I feel like there are endless stories to tell. I so so so so want to see inside. And the bit of fog makes it all the more mysterious. And why not just throw us one more question with that plastic on the windows. I'm imagining being inside and hearing the plastic ripple in the wind every now and then. Who lives there? And beyond all that...I want it!! Ohhhh the potential! Gosh! Maybe it speaks to me because it looks like it's aching for a glorious Springtime.

Well, the sun is shining here in Jersey and we hope it continues through the weekend.
Happy Weekend friends! Make it a great one!
xo Jenny...and Aaron says hi!
