Casual & Beachy

A House Of The Week

This houses sums up the very nature of what a large family beach house should be - casual, relaxed and inviting. The materials used throughout are textured and beachy and the finishes are natural and rustic. I love  real sisal in a beach house and the lime washed timber gives it a chic coastal feel. The day bed looks a great place to curl up in on a sunny afternoon with a favourite book. It has a cosy fireplace for chilly nights and is hop skip and a jump from the beach. The white and sandy palette is perfect for beachside living!

A Perfect Balance

Since moving down the coast about 8 years ago I have a totally new approach to life. My city life comprised of late nights, plenty of fast food on the run, not enough sleep, no exercise and a hectic schedule. I didn't think about a healthy lifestyle change it's just gradually happened over the years. It started off with morning runs on the beach with my husband to get a bit of fitness back. Then he forced me into eating vegies and healthy salads. I then started cooking healthier meals, cut down on coffee, cut out sugar, swapped white bread for brown and aim for a good 8 hours sleep a night. Running on a cold winter's morning is no fun but I know it keeps me fit all year round, healthy and happy. Every so often I craze a burger or fish'n' chips on the beach but that's food to feel the soul!
