My Beach House - A Room With A View

A Room With A View

This has to be the best room in the house.

Not only does it have this light airy feel but it has lovely ocean views.
The colour palette is serene and calming
with lots of white, sandy neutrals and a pop of turquoise to give it some life.
The sofas were picked up for a bargain from Dare Gallery
but I bought the beautiful silk and linen cushions to give it more of a designer feel.
The fish painting was bought at a local gallery and
the Japanese paper artwork gives the room an organic element.
The bleached coffee table is an antique Chinese day bed used for opium smoking!
The 1950's brick fireplace was given a modern makeover with
a fresh coat of black paint, new Caesarstone hearth and some limestone tiles.
The sandy coloured shagpile rug and the fireplace make the room cosy over winter.
Along with the new furniture, a coat of Dulux 'Natural White',
polishing the boards and new textured blinds
has transformed this room into a haven of peace and tranquility.
A perfect spot for curling up and reading a book with a cup of coffee by my side!
