This breezy beach house is an amazing example of how global influences are at work. This house sums up Australian style to me - bathed in light, relaxed and casual yet stylish and sophisticated at the same time. The neutral palette with the odd pop of colour is also very Australia. So is the furniture and furnishings - I even spy a didgeridoo in the bedroom! Yet this house is situated on the French coast and belongs to a couple of French surfers who have imitated Californian style. It just goes to show how styles, cultures and taste have melded together all over the globe.
Wherever it is and whatever style it's imitating this is my kind of beach house
- light, bright, open and summery!
