In honour of Anzac Day - here is a recipe for an old favourite -
ANZAC BISCUITS
Quick and easy to make .... and totally delicious!
Anzac Biscuits
Ingredients
- ½ cup (75g) White Wings plain flour
- 1/3 cup (75g) sugar
- 2/3 cup (60g) coconut
- ¾ cup (70g) rolled oats
- 50 g butter
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup
- ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 1 tablespoon boiling water
Method
| 1. Preheat oven to 170°C. Line 2 oven trays with non-stick baking paper. | 2. Mix together flour, sugar, coconut and rolled oats. Melt butter and golden syrup. Dissolve bicarbonate of soda in the boiling water and add to butter and golden syrup. Stir butter mixture into the dry ingredients. | 3. Shape level tablespoons of mixture into balls and place onto prepared trays, about 5cm apart. Press to flatten. | 4. Bake for about 12 minutes or until golden brown.
