House Of The Week

When India Hicks left the rat race for the Caribbean, people scratched their heads. But the model turned interior designer soon created a new path for the designer. The daughter of British designer David Hicks and god daughter of the Prince of Wales. She has written two books, including 'Island Life' and 'Island Beauty' in collaboration with Crabtree and Evelyn. They have also built or restored 4 houses and a hotel along the way.
She was born in London, England, in 1967, her mother Pamela Hicks, is daughter to the Earl and Countess Mountbatten of Burma. Her grandfather was the last Viceroy of India, and gave the country their independence in 1947, hence her name.
She has a degree in photography but started her working life as a model with her first modelling assignment for Ralph Lauren. A career on the other side of the camera was born. She now lives on a small island in the Bahamas, with David Flint and her four boys.
